Bakker represents clients in a
wide variety of commercial matters. He advises individuals and
companies doing business in The
Netherlands and the U.S. He practices in the areas of immigration,
contracts, corporate and tax treaty benefits. He has assisted in the
representation of both multinational corporations
and small partnerships in commercial contracts litigation. In addition,
Mr. Bakker has extensive foreign language e-discovery experience,
particularly in matters involving U.S. federal agencies in antitrust,
foreign corrupt practices and export control matters. He has managed
the foreign language
aspects of discovery and assisted in the representation of clients in
diverse industries, including oil and gas, telecommunications,
pharmaceuticals, auto and financial services.

LYZKA P. DELACRUZ Managing Partner ![]() ldelacruz[at]bakkerdelacruz.com Ms. DeLaCruz represents clients in commercial litigation proceedings before federal and state courts. She has represented an African sovereign in a breach of contract action and has been involved in litigation in Latin America and involving a Latin American sovereign. Ms. DeLaCruz has experience with matters involving foreign sovereign immunities, U.S. registration of foreign agents, forum non conveniens, foreign corrupt practices and choice of law issues. In her immigration practice, Ms. DeLaCruz represents seekers of a wide variety of U.S. immigration benefits. She also advises international families in the area of probate and estates. Finally, Ms. DeLaCruz has extensive foreign language e-discovery experience. She has managed the foreign language aspects of e-discovery in several high-profile matters. Ms. DeLaCruz is active in the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia and currently serves as Vice President of External Affairs. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the DC Bar Litigation Section's E-Discovery Committee, and serves on the board of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association.
